Open Positions
AI Engineer
Build and maintain the AI systems that power ThabangVision — from Ubunye (our conversational booking assistant) to computer vision pipelines that auto-tag portfolios, detect skills from creator work, and validate documents. You will work across the full AI stack: prompt engineering, model routing, tool-use agents, RAG retrieval, and vision models. You will ship features that real users interact with daily, not research prototypes.
- —3+ years building production AI/ML systems (not just notebooks)
- —Strong Python and TypeScript — our AI layer runs in Node with Vercel AI SDK
- —Experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, OpenAI)
- —Familiarity with tool-use agents, function calling, and structured outputs
- —Understanding of RAG pipelines (embeddings, vector search, retrieval)
- —Computer vision experience (image classification, OCR, document validation) is a strong plus
- —Comfortable working across the stack — you will touch API routes, database queries, and frontend when needed
- —Based in or willing to relocate to Johannesburg
Head of Studio Production
Lead all studio production operations at ThabangVision — from client briefs to final delivery. You'll oversee shoots, manage crew scheduling, coordinate equipment logistics, and ensure every project meets our creative and quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll be on set as much as you're in planning meetings. You'll work directly with clients, manage budgets, and grow a team of creators across photography, video, and drone operations.
